About the job

I’m adding a wood-framed, attached front porch to my brick-veneer home in Southeast Pennsylvania. I already have architectural renderings, full measurements, and a preliminary packet showing footer locations and framing concepts; what I still need is an experienced structural engineer to take this material across the finish line. Your primary tasks are to: • Review and refine the existing porch layout, confirming that all spans, joist sizes, and footer details meet local code. • Verify and clearly detail how the new structure will tie back into the existing brick veneer so that load paths, moisture control, and differential movement are properly addressed. • Produce a complete set of construction drawings—preferably in AutoCAD or Revit—bearing your Pennsylvania PE stamp, ready for township submission and contractor use. Because the porch will be constructed in wood, all calculations and specifications must reflect that choice. I can supply DWG/PDF versions of the current renderings, photographs of the façade, and any additional site information you require. Acceptance will be based on: 1. A signed and sealed drawing set that includes foundation, framing plans, connection details, sections/elevations, and notes compliant with local IRC amendments. 2. Calculations package supporting beam, column, and connector selections. 3. Quick turnaround on any township comment cycles (if they arise). If this scope fits your licensure and schedule, let’s talk so I can forward the preliminary packet for your review.
