About the job

I need a robust Python-based automation tool that plugs directly into QGIS and streamlines my day-to-day GIS workflows. The core aim is to replace a growing set of repetitive tasks with a single, well-structured script or plugin that I can run inside QGIS without manual intervention each time. At minimum, the tool must: • Launch from QGIS (PyQGIS) and run cross-platform. • Read vector and raster layers from local folders or network paths, perform the necessary processing steps, and write clean, ready-to-use outputs back to disk or a database. • Be clearly documented so I can adjust file paths, layer names, and parameters later without digging through cryptic code. Depending on your expertise we can expand the scope to cover data preparation, automated map creation, or even remote-sensing routines—my priority is a solid, modular foundation written in Python that follows best practices (use of virtual environments, requirements.txt, logging, and error handling). Deliver the finished .py file(s) or QGIS plugin, a short README explaining setup and use, and sample data or screenshots proving it runs as expected. If you have previous work automating QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, or satellite-image processing, please share a brief example so I can see your coding style.
