About the job

I need a Colorado-licensed structural engineer to help me remove a load-bearing wall that separates a bedroom/bath area from an adjoining sunroom in our Aspen home. Pitkin County will only accept a PE-sealed drawing accompanied by full structural calculations, so both documents have to meet local code requirements and be ready for immediate submission. No engineer has inspected the space on site yet, but I have clear photos, detailed measurements, and framing notes that show the wall supports only a roof/attic assembly—there’s no occupied floor above it. With that information in hand, I’m looking for you to confirm the load path and design the replacement beam, posts, and any necessary footings or connections. Deliverables • Colorado PE-sealed PDF drawing set (demo notes, new framing plan/sections, connection details) • Matching structural calculation package in PDF that aligns with Pitkin County’s checklist • Brief follow-up letter or addendum should the county request clarification during review I can send you the floor plan, joist layout, roof loading data, and any extra field measurements you need within 24 hours. A virtual workflow is fine; a site visit isn’t required if you’re confident working from the documentation provided. Please let me know your proposed approach, estimated turnaround, and any additional information you’ll need so we can get this permit submitted as soon as possible.
