Senior Linux VPS & DevOps Expert – Server Setup, Application Migration, Security & Maintenance

We are looking for an experienced Linux VPS Administrator / DevOps Engineer to set up, configure, secure, and optimize a Linux VPS environment for hosting multiple business applications. Our objective is to migrate from our existing Azure and Hostinger infrastructure to a secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective Linux VPS environment. Applications & Technology Stack We have three applications: 1. Multi-Tenant CRM * ASP.NET Core / .NET backend * Angular frontend * Microsoft SQL Server * Multi-tenant database architecture * Currently hosted on Azure, with SQL Server on a local office server 2. Business Web Application * Technology stack and hosting requirements will be shared with the selected freelancer. 3. Knowledge Base Platform * React frontend * Node.js backend * MongoDB database * Currently hosted on Hostinger Scope of Work 1. Linux VPS Setup * Recommend appropriate VPS specifications and hosting architecture. * Install and configure Ubuntu Linux Server. * Configure Nginx, reverse proxy, domains, and SSL certificates. * Set up hosting environments for multiple applications. * Optimize server resources and performance. 2. Application & Database Migration * Deploy .NET, Angular, React, and Node.js applications. * Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB. * Migrate existing databases and application configurations. * Ensure secure database connectivity and proper application isolation. * Test application functionality and performance after migration. 3. CI/CD & Deployment * Configure and optimize CI/CD pipelines. * Integrate existing source repositories. * Set up automated application deployments. * Configure appropriate deployment rollback procedures. * Retain Azure Boards for development task management. 4. Security & Monitoring * Configure firewall, SSH security, and access controls. * Implement server hardening and security updates. * Secure application and database environments. * Configure monitoring, logging, and automated alerts. 5. Backup & Disaster Recovery * Configure automated encrypted backups with separate off-server storage. * Test database and application restoration. * Establish disaster recovery and service restoration procedures. 6. Documentation & Support * Provide complete infrastructure and configuration documentation. * Prepare basic server maintenance and troubleshooting guidelines. * Provide post-migration support. * Be available for occasional ongoing maintenance and technical assistance. Project Terms This is primarily a Linux server administration, infrastructure setup, and DevOps project, not an application development project. The freelancer will coordinate with our existing development team. All major configuration changes and production migrations must receive prior approval. Security and confidentiality are essential because the applications may contain sensitive client information. We prefer a professional who can also provide occasional long-term maintenance and troubleshooting support.
