The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support research that advances understanding of the natural history of radiation or chemical exposures; develops relevant injury models; identifies and validates diagnostic tools, biomarkers, or triage technologies; and supports the development of effective medical countermeasures (MCMs) to mitigate or treat acute and/or delayed injuries resulting from radiological/nuclear or chemical public health emergencies.

DARRP Restoration Implementation Grants (2026)

The principal objective of the Damage Assessment, Remediation and Restoration Program (DARRP) Restoration Implementation Grants is for NOAA to collaborate with non-federal partners to implement marine and coastal habitat restoration and conservation in order to accomplish common goals related to oil spills, hazardous substance releases, and other natural resource damages. Successful applicants will support and implement restoration activities authorized under the Oil Pollution Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, Clean Water Act, National Marine Sanctuaries Act, and other federal agencies' authorities related to oil spills, hazardous substance releases, and natural resource damages, such as the RESTORE Act. Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) will be for those capable of implementing restoration and conservation activities across a wide geographic scale. NOAA NOFO Page 2 of 26 Restoration activities may include actions that rebuild productive and sustainable fisheries; contribute to the recovery and conservation of threatened and endangered species; and improve economic vitality, including local employment. Recipients will be implementing activities identified in consent decrees or natural resource damage assessment and restoration plans, and may be developing or soliciting projects to meet restoration goals. This may include recipients reviewing restoration plans and: collaborating with the trustee to select activities to be contracted or sub-awarded by the recipient; collaborating with the trustee to select projects for which the recipient has direct implementation responsibility; competition management to sub- award projects; and implementing pre- and post-restoration project evaluation and monitoring. Projects may also include restoration planning and technique development activities that further the mutual interests of DARRP and of funding recipient partners, such as environmental compliance analyses or restoration planning for potential, future incidents.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) released its annual omnibus Research Announcement (NRA), Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) – 2025 (OMB Approval Number 2700-0092, CFDA Number 43.001) on February 21, 2025. In this case "omnibus" means that this NRA has many individual program elements, each with its own due dates and topics. All together these cover the wide range of basic and applied supporting research and technology supported by SMD. Awards will be made as grants, cooperative agreements, or contracts depending on the nature of the work proposed. However, most extramural research awards deriving from ROSES will be grants, and many program elements of ROSES specifically exclude contracts, because contracts would not be appropriate for the nature of the work solicited. The Violence Against Women Tribal Special Assistant U.S. Attorney (SAUSA) Initiative (Tribal SAUSA Initiative) supports Tribes and United States Attorneys' Offices (USAOs) in their investigation and prosecution of VAWA crimes in Indian country. Tribes receive funds to work with their USAO partner to hire or retain a mutually agreed upon attorney to be cross-designated as both a SAUSA and a Tribal prosecutor. The goals of the initiative are to fill gaps in jurisdictional coverage; increase communication and coordination among Tribal, federal, and state law enforcement agencies; establish consistent relationships between federal prosecutors and Tribal community(ies); and improve the quality of investigation and prosecution of VAWA crimes.

Silvio O. Conte Centers for Basic Neuroscience or Translational Mental Health Research (P50 Clinical Trial Optional)

This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) encourages applications for Silvio O. Conte Centers for Basic Neuroscience or Translational Mental Health Research. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) seeks teams of integrative researchers working at different levels of analysis and employing novel, and creative experimental approaches to address high-risk, high-impact questions with the primary objectives of: (a) advancing basic brain and behavior research that will uncover underlying mechanisms that could provide the foundation for understanding mental disorders; (b) supporting the integration and translation of basic and clinical neuroscience research on severe mental illnesses; (c) advancing our understanding of the neurobehavioral mechanisms and trajectories of psychopathology that begin in development. This program is intended only for projects that could not be achieved using other, more standard grant mechanisms.

Data Coordinating Center for the Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Mouse Brain Atlas (AD-MBA) (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites applications proposing a Data Coordinating Center that integrates and disseminates multiscale mouse brain datasets for the aging and Alzheimer's disease (AD) research community. The Data Coordinating Center will establish the Aging and AD Mouse Brain Atlas (AD-MBA), which will serve as a central, unified research resource for multi-omic and connectomic mouse brain datasets emerging from the NIA AD Multimodal Atlas Projects (AD-MAPs). The Data Coordinating Center will (1) leverage the NIA-supported AD Knowledge Portal data infrastructure to facilitate hosting, deposition, and dissemination of multimodal datasets generated by the AD-MAPs program, (2) facilitate collaborative analyses among the data-contributing teams, (3) develop/optimize and incorporate tools for multiscale integration of multi-omics and connectomics datasets, and (4) create a broadly accessible web-based interface for the visualization and dissemination of integrated multiscale data.
