Short-Form Video Editor / Content Clipper — Ongoing Work I’m looking for an experienced short-form video editor/content clipper to turn my long-form classroom content into engaging, ready-to-post social media videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. The Content I teach a college-level course focused on social media, entrepreneurship, content creation, branding, and marketing. I record my full classes, which are approximately **60 minutes long**. These classes contain numerous conversations, lessons, examples, stories, and teaching moments that can be turned into individual pieces of short-form content. I do not want to provide timestamps for every clip. A major part of this role is being able to watch the long-form content and **identify the moments that have the greatest potential to become engaging short-form content.** What I Need You will take approximately 60 minutes of raw classroom footage and: - Identify the strongest standalone moments from the class - Turn those moments into approximately **45–90 second vertical videos** - Create a strong opening hook using the existing content whenever possible - Remove unnecessary pauses, filler words, dead space, and portions that don't contribute to the message - Use pacing, punch-ins/zooms, transitions, B-roll, graphics, and other editing techniques when appropriate - Add clean, accurate, engaging on-screen captions - Highlight important words or phrases within the captions when appropriate - Make sure each clip tells a complete story or delivers a clear takeaway - Format everything in **9:16 vertical format (1080 × 1920)** - Deliver finished videos ready to upload to Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts Content Strategy I'm not looking for someone who simply cuts videos. I'm looking for an editor who understands **short-form storytelling and viewer retention**. You should be able to recognize when something I say could become a strong piece of content and understand how to package that moment so someone who has never seen my class still understands it. The goal is for someone scrolling Instagram or TikTok to stop, watch, learn something, and ideally want to follow for more. Editing Style The content should feel: Professional Educational Authentic Fast-paced without being over-edited Native to Instagram/TikTok/YouTube Shorts I don't want every video filled with unnecessary effects. The editing should support the message rather than distract from it. Ongoing Opportunity This is potentially an "ongoing position". I regularly record approximately 60-minute classes and would like to build a consistent pipeline of short-form content from those recordings. If we work well together, I would prefer to establish a predictable monthly workflow rather than continually hiring different editors. When Applying, Please Include 1. Paid Trial For this paid trial, I will provide one approximately 60-minute classroom recording. You will be responsible for identifying the 5 moments you believe have the greatest short-form content potential and turning those into 5 polished, ready-to-post videos. I will NOT provide timestamps. - Identify strong content without being given timestamps - Create compelling hooks - Understand the context of what I'm teaching - Edit for retention - Create accurate captions - Maintain my natural speaking style - Deliver polished, ready-to-post videos If the trial goes well, I am interested in establishing an ongoing relationship and potentially moving to a monthly retainer.
