Job Title: Seeking Existing COBOL Codebases for Commercial Acquisition or Licensing Project Overview We are seeking experienced COBOL developers, mainframe specialists, software development companies, and organizations that own existing COBOL applications and source code available for commercial acquisition or licensing. Our current requirement is approximately 1 million lines of COBOL source code. We are open to sourcing the code from multiple providers, and submissions of any volume will be considered. This requirement is primarily for existing code, not the development of a new application from scratch. What We Are Looking For We are interested in the following types of COBOL source code: - Legacy COBOL applications developed for IBM mainframe environments. - Previously developed or retired business applications. - Existing enterprise applications used for business operations. - Banking, finance, insurance, payroll, inventory, manufacturing, and transaction-processing applications. - Reusable COBOL modules, code libraries, and application components. - Training projects, demonstration applications, and sample programs. - Existing codebases that are no longer actively maintained but can legally be licensed or transferred. Code developed using technologies such as JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and other mainframe-related technologies is also relevant. Eligibility Requirements Applicants should meet the following requirements: - Own the source code or have documented authorization to license or transfer it. - Be able to provide the source files in a mutually agreed format. - Be able to provide an approximate source-line count and a brief description of the codebase. - Clearly identify whether the code comes from a working application, a retired application, a reusable component, or a training/sample project. - Confirm that the code can legally be supplied for the intended commercial use. - Ensure the code does not contain unauthorized client-owned material, confidential information, credentials, or personal data.
