Odoo ERP Setup for HVAC Import Company

Title: Odoo ERP Implementation Consultant & Developer for HVAC Import / Wholesale Company Project Description We are a California-based HVAC equipment importing, wholesale, retail, and installation company looking for an experienced Odoo Implementation Consultant / Developer. We are NOT looking for someone simply to install Odoo. We need an experienced professional who can analyze our business workflow, configure standard Odoo applications correctly, and develop custom functionality only where necessary. Our company imports mini split HVAC equipment from China and manages warehouse inventory, wholesale sales, contractors, retail customers, installations, serial numbers, warranties, and landed costs. We already have a detailed implementation blueprint prepared for this project. The blueprint will be provided to shortlisted candidates. Odoo Modules Required The implementation will include primarily: Inventory Barcode Purchase Sales CRM Accounting / Invoicing Contacts Field Service Documents Reporting / Dashboards Important Inventory Requirements We need: Multiple warehouse locations Barcode scanning Smartphone barcode scanning Product SKUs Manufacturer model numbers AHRI model numbers Serial-number tracking Indoor and outdoor HVAC unit relationships Multi-zone HVAC combinations Inventory transfers Receiving Reserved inventory Installer inventory Returns Damaged inventory Warranty inventory Import / China Purchasing Requirements Our company imports HVAC equipment from China. We need Odoo configured to manage: Purchase Order → Factory Production → Container → Ocean Shipping → Customs → Trucking → Warehouse Receiving → Inventory We also need proper Landed Cost accounting including: Product factory cost Ocean freight Customs duties Tariffs Customs broker Port charges Trucking Insurance Other import expenses We need the system to determine the TRUE landed cost of inventory. Sales Requirements We have several pricing levels: Wholesale Contractor Retail Promotional Installed price Workflow: Lead → Quote → Sales Order → Deposit / Payment → Inventory Reservation → Pickup / Delivery / Installation → Invoice → Payment Installation Management For installed HVAC equipment we want to track: Customer Installation address Equipment Model Serial number Installer Installation date Equipment cost Installation cost Materials Photos Warranty Job profitability Management Dashboard Management needs dashboards showing: Current inventory Inventory value Low stock Incoming inventory China purchase orders Containers Sales Accounts receivable Accounts payable Cash Gross profit Installed jobs Important Development Philosophy We want: STANDARD ODOO FIRST. Do not custom-code something that standard Odoo can already accomplish. Custom development should only be used when it provides functionality that cannot reasonably be achieved using standard Odoo configuration, Studio, or automation. What portions of this project would you use standard Odoo for and what portions do you believe would require custom development? 8.
