Translate French Farce Play

I have a full-length French farce that needs to burst off the page in English with the same quick timing, innuendo and slapstick energy the original delivers to a French audience. The entire script matters equally to me, so every entrance, exit and punch-line has to land just as hard after translation. While the spirit and rhythm must stay intact, I do want local cultural references reshaped so an English-speaking audience laughs instantly without foot-dragging explanations. Wordplay should be re-invented rather than explained, and any idioms that simply will not travel can be swapped for equally mischievous English counterparts. Deliverable: • A complete, stage-ready English script in editable DOCX or Final Draft format, mirroring original pagination and stage directions. • Brief translator’s notes where a joke or reference has been significantly adapted, so the director sees your logic and can adjust blocking if needed. Accuracy, comic timing and readability are my touchstones; if a line reads smoothly aloud and provokes the same laugh count as the French, we are golden.
