Backend API Developer / Engineer – Ad Network Integration & Custom API Development Project Overview: We are looking for an experienced Backend Web & API Developer to refactor, replace, and build custom APIs for our website and mobile applications. The primary goal is to upgrade our current backend setup and integrate a dedicated API engine to manage, serve, and track advertisements efficiently without sacrificing app speed or performance. Scope of Work & Key Requirements Legacy API Replacement: Review existing endpoints, remove outdated code, and build high-performance replacement APIs. Custom Ad API Infrastructure: Build APIs to fetch, serve, and deliver ad formats (banners, native, video, etc.) seamlessly to both web and mobile platforms. Ad Analytics & Tracking: Create secure endpoints to track key ad metrics like impressions, click-through rates, and conversions in real-time. Speed & Latency Optimization: Utilize caching strategies (e.g., Redis) and slim JSON payloads to keep ad delivery fast and smooth. Security & Authentication: Secure all new endpoints using standard protocols (JWT, OAuth2, or API keys) and implement rate-limiting to prevent ad fraud. API Documentation: Provide clear API specs (Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI) so our front-end and app teams can easily integrate the new endpoints. Ideal Candidate Profile Deep expertise in building modern, scalable RESTful or GraphQL APIs. Strong background in backend languages (Node.js, Python, PHP/Laravel, Go, etc.). Prior experience with Ad Tech integrations, third-party ad networks, or custom ad-serving logic. Solid database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
