If you’re ready to leave your footprint on global commerce, join us. The Purpose: We're looking for a senior lawyer who's just as comfortable with emerging technology as they are with regulation. As part of PPRO's legal team, you'll work alongside our Product Lead Counsel and stakeholders across product, engineering, treasury and commercial, plus our partners around the world. You'll help our growing payments business tackle what's next: from stablecoins and other digital assets to agentic AI and new product launches. Your day-to-day spans regulatory horizon scanning, hands-on deal work and legal advice that keeps pace with fast-moving technology. Your work will span multiple jurisdictions and legal domains, from contract to payments regulation, and you'll bring genuine curiosity about how new technology actually works, not just how to regulate it. What you’ll be doing: Advising the business on the full product lifecycle, from the first idea through launch, as we build, launch and scale PPRO's payment products globally, including digital asset and stablecoin initiatives Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including partner agreements and contracts tied to new product development Drafting and maintaining customer-facing legal documents for new products, including terms and conditions and disclosures for AI-driven features Advising on the regulatory side of product features, the onboarding of new payment methods, and market expansion which may include cross-border data flows, data protection and privacy, and payment services regulation Advising on the legal and regulatory questions raised by digital assets, including stablecoins: e-money and payment services classification, custody, cross-border transfer rules and emerging digital asset regimes Acting as our go-to expert on AI, including agentic AI and associated liability, governance, data use, contracting for AI tools and the regulatory frameworks that are still taking shape Horizon scanning for legal and regulatory developments, and assisting with the implementation of any subsequently required changes Collaborating with the compliance and risk teams to embed legal thinking into PPRO's product lifecycle and go-to-market planning Improving legal and governance processes at PPRO, including exploring how AI tools can make our own legal team work smarter Advising the business on ad hoc legal questions, from IP to corporate law and disputes Liaising with external counsel and turning their advice into something the wider business can interpret and implement You’ll need to: Be a UK or EU qualified lawyer with 8+ years experience in the financial services, payments and/or technology sector, with a strong mix of regulatory, privacy and commercial legal experience Bring genuine, hands-on experience with payments, digital assets, including stablecoins, plus real depth on how AI, including agentic AI, is reshaping products and regulation Have a good working knowledge of financial regulation, including payment services regulation across the UK and EU Have strong experience advising on data protection and privacy (UK GDPR, EU GDPR, cross-border data transfers) Be genuinely comfortable with technology so you are able to get into the detail with engineers, ask the right questions and follow a technical conversation Be comfortable working in ambiguity and to independently work out the mitigation, not just the risk Be able to turn complex legal or technical issues into plain English Have a strong sense of ownership and the drive to push complex legal matters through to completion Bring an open, flexible, team-oriented approach, with excellent communication skills What's in it for you?
